My camping makeup must have!

June 28, 2017

Family, friends, campfires, jokes, stories, baileys, nature walks, a good book, the amazing bright stars at night, away from the stress, hustle and bustle of regular life... These are just a few of the reasons I love camping!

Since everything you bring is going to smell like smoke, I try to pack light. We should probably emphasize the word TRY. I used to bring my entire makeup bag and ended up using only using a couple products and came home with all my brushes needed a good cleaning and sanitizing, also since my truck usually packed so tight i broke a compact and an eyeshadow, which I never even wore. uggh!!!! I know some will read this and wonder why bring any makeup. I don't think anyone has to wear makeup camping, but if you are like me, Ijust feel more comfortable and confident evening out my skin tone and having a light coverage if I have some breakouts. Plus if you have a dad like mine who brings his ginormous lens and takes pics at all angles at every moment......haha

This year I chose my camping must haves and was happy I did! One in particular I wanted to review for you is:

Macs prep+prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35

This has been sitting in my drawer for over a year. A friend told me she loved it and I bought it and completely forgot about it! So happy it re surfaced. Typically I don't love Mac Foundations. I have tried a few of their lines of foundations and so I was a little weary of using the bb cream. I was impressed! This product is great for any trip not just camping. This is probably the only bb cream I've used and like. There are 9 shades to choose from which is great because i often find bb creams don't have big selection and can be way to light then jump to a medium and can be too dark or orange looking on me. I love that this is a one step product. Cutting out the need to bring a primer, a sunscreen and a finishing powder! This beauty balm blurs out imperfections, controls oil and evens out skin tone. All while protecting against suns harmful uv rays! Its an SPF 35. I found it lasted all day and the colour matched perfectly. I wouldn't use as my everyday foundation as typically I like a fuller coverage foundation. For the convenience and for being happy with the product in general I would definitely recommend! You can find it at any Mac Cosmetic store or online at MacCosmetics
