Strobing the new Contouring?

January 18, 2017

Thanks to the Kardashian sisters, contouring has been the trend for awhile now. If you have struggled with the shading and highlighting to achieve the Kim look and its turned into a hot mess, maybe strobing is for you! Said to be this seasons hottest look, and the best part is It does not take as much experience as contouring. This is easy to master!  All you need is a great highlighter or illuminator that suits your skin tone.

So what is this strobing trend and how do you achieve it? Strobed look is achieved by applying highlighter where the sun would naturally hit your face. Using either cream or liquid highlighting products to give a nice dewy finish. If you’re more on the oily side a powder highlighter I love is Becca Shimmering pressed powder. You want to focus on the bridge of your nose, high point of the cheek bone, above the cupids bow, centre of forehead and your brow bone. You can even highlight your collar bone for a pretty effect.

  1. PREP YOUR SKIN – Prep your skin with a hydrating moisturizer. Strobing is about

    1. APPLY YOUR BASE – Use your foundation or a tinted moisturizer to even out the skin.

    2. ADD HIGHLIGHTER – Using your brush or your clean fingers, add the highlighter to your upper cheek bones, bridge of your nose, above cupids bow, centre of forehead and your brow bone. Can also add to your inner corner of eyelid.

NOTE: DON’T SKIP BLUSH AS YOU WILL LOOK TOO WASHED OUT!  To keep the look soft, opt for a coral or light pink blush.

    HAPPY STROBING!!!
